The Boat

salon-frontLady Teal was designed, by us, to be the 5 Star luxury Hotel Boat that she is. Her first Visit England assesment was in her first year and she was assesed as Five Star , we are the widest hotel boat on the system. Every guest cabin is truly en-suite, that means not only your own wash handbasin and flush toilet but also a great shower all to yourself.

We put lots of innovative design features into Lady Teal, many of our guests comment on our attention to detail and that is lovely to hear. Our aim was to  create a new era for hotel boating producing a class of hotel boat that others will use as a template to follow where we are leading.

At 60 foot long and 13 foot wide Lady Teal has become a feature of  the glorious Leeds and Liverpool canal. She is fabulous, of course we are biased but all our guests have said so too!

Those of our guests who have been on hotel boats have said they think Lady Teal is the best hotel boat they have been on. Being wide beam she has a large lounge with windows front and sides and a large marine sunroof. If it is a bit chilly we can be closed up but still see everything and when it’s warm we can open up to the fresh air.  Lady Teal has an airy, spacious, very light and luxurious lounge for our guests to relax in and watch the world go by, watch guests helping with locks and swing bridges or watch guests stroll the towpath. Our picture window lounge with large front and side windows make viewing all the activity and wildlife a pleasure.

brindley-as-a-doubleThe lounge has fully programmable mood lighting for those magical dinners, in the middle of the amazing countryside.

Sitting on the purpose built armchairs  or using the fixed seating you can always find the vantage point you want. Or when the weather is good you sit on the star Deck looking out across the amazing Yorkshire and Lancashire countryside.

The toilets are flush toilets and the showers are power showers, not the dribble you may have expected!

All rooms have their own tea and coffee facilities, hair-dryer and satellite TV with DVD player. They also have plenty of sockets for those electrical items you have brought with you. We offer full 240 volt sockets throughout the boat.

Brindley and Whitworth have twin beds and are not in miniature, this is a big boat, we do not offer a double as our guests have found the twin beds more convenient . The large stern area means there is plenty of room for guests to stand chatting with the skipper whilst we go through locks, swing bridges tunnels and fascinating scenery.

When stopped, and occasionally when on the move, we have our unique upper deck area where you can sit with your cocktail watching that great sunset talking about your day while your four course dinner is prepared for you.
